Tatum L’Heureux
A feature from the 2024 festival was the outdoor stage, which boasted musicians of various genres, styles, and ages on the stage throughout the day. Tatum L’Heureux, native to Nelsonville and current student at Ohio University, is no stranger to the stage. She was also the first ever recipient of the DENI Music Award.
Tatum played several songs, but the one that caught our hearts was the one she wrote for her mom, Jennifer; the song was filled with everything she wished her mom knew about herself. It was a beautiful rendering of daughterhood, of motherhood, and the space between that often gets lost in the quagmire.
Thank you, Tatum, for sharing your heart and your stories with ALAS on the stage. We hope to see you sharing your songs again soon!
