CONTEST DETAILS
Throughout the summer from May through July, we shared images to inspire a brand new song or the reflection of an old one. The top songwriters across both adult and student categories are invited to perform at the festival to compete for the grand prize!

Join us at 2pm on Saturday, October 3rd to hear these songwriters perform their piece. Winners will be announced at the Awards Brunch on October 4th at 11am.

Judging Criteria (100 points)
COMPOSITION (1 - 50 pts) - Lyrics, emotional impact, hook, originality, melody
PERFORMANCE (1 - 25 pts) - Musicality, vocals, and inflection.
THEME (1 - 25 pts) - Speaks to the theme and is relevant to the Appalachian region

JOSH ZIELINSKI
is a landscape and architectural photographer based in Southeast Ohio. With a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communications from Ohio University, Josh has been exploring the world through his lens since 2014. ADAM REMNANT
Adam Remnant is a photographer, musician, and arts administrator living in Athens, Ohio. Remnant ventured into photography out of a need to create visuals to represent his music. However, the visual arts started to take on a life of their own once Remnant began experimenting with film photography. Athens Photo Project is a peer-run community of artists dedicated to using photography as a tool for self-expression, personal growth, and social change.
